Recently, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized RM25,946 worth of suspected counterfeit cosmetics in a raid on a warehouse and a house here.
Mohd Khairi Jamaludin, the Chief Enforcement Officer of KPDN Selangor, stated that the raid, which began around 3 PM on July 4, was conducted with a trademark representative. The first location targeted was a storage warehouse in Bukit Rawang Jaya.
He mentioned that KPDN Selangor met with an employee of the premises before conducting an inspection. During the inspection, 13 units of suspected counterfeit cosmetics, estimated to be worth RM403, were discovered. The employee’s statement was recorded,” he told Sinar Harian on Friday.
Mohd Khairi added that on the same day, the operation team proceeded to the second location, a house in Taman Scientex Rawang. After explaining their presence to a male employee at the residence, KPDN Selangor seized 700 units of suspected counterfeit cosmetics worth RM25,543. “Investigations revealed that the house was used as a place to collect, store, and dispatch various goods purchased by buyers,” he added.
All seized items were taken to the KPDN Exhibit Storage in Bukit Raja, Selangor.
The case is being investigated under the Trademark Act 2019
