Ray Patrick Co-Founder & Managing Director (MD)
Ray Patrick is the Managing Director of Global Trade Shield Sdn. Bhd. He started his career as a private investigator in 1999 with a renowned Malaysian private investigation agency and was discovered and recruited by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) in 2001. He was brought in to join its regional anti-piracy team based in Malaysia.
From the outset, he was trained by former senior Hong Kong and British police officers in all aspects of intelligence gathering and undercover operations.
Initially, he was responsible for uncovering the manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit repertory in the country. He went on to later conduct cross-border investigations covering countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Brunei and the Philippines. He is trained in the areas of informant handling, raid executions and undercover operations.
Ray has vast experiences in working with law enforcement agencies in the Asia-Pacific region. These experiences have enabled him to establish strong working relationships with the Malaysian Police, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) and other government enforcement agencies. Ray has undergone extensive training with the Customs, Royal Malaysian Police and MDTCA on anti- counterfeiting of a wide range of products. He has also given and continues to provide expert evidence representation in the courts of law.
