Global Trade Shield Sdn. Bhd. CEO Abdul Rahman Ghazali is a former Deputy Director General of Enforcement (Operations) for the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA). Following that, Abdul Rahman was the Director of Operations for the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM).
With a strong background in the Registry of Criminals Division (Police Headquarters, Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur) as an Inspector of Police, GTS’ CEO has had special training in Police Forensic Science from the National Police Agency (Tokyo, Japan) and has been on a special training and study tour with the Royal Hong Kong Police.
Abdul Rahman has under his belt many skills that were acquired having attended several major courses such as an Advance Investigation Course at the Trade Practice Commission (Canberra, Australia); Copyright Course at the Royal Hong Kong Customs Department (Hong Kong); Legal Metrology Course at the National Standards Commission (Sydney, Australia); Advance Prosecution Course at the Police College (Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, Malaysia), to name a few. He has also participated in renowned seminars such as the WIPO Asia Sub-regional Seminar on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (Bangkok, Thailand) and WIPO Asian Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).
Abdul Rahman has also been to the United States of America on an International Visitor Programme sponsored by the US State Department on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights by the US Customs, Police and the FBI in Washington, New York, Houston, Los Angeles and San Jose, California. In addition, he has participated in the Asia Pacific Legal Metrology Forum in Chinese Taipei, ROC. He was also involved with the Hong Kong Customs Department on the implementation and enforcement of the Hong Kong Prevention of Piracy Ordinance 1998 vis a vis the Malaysian Optical Discs Act 2000.
Abdul Rahman’s vast experience in criminal investigation and prosecution carries immense weight in seeing to varied needs of GTS’ clients.
Abdul Rahman has been awarded numerous titles and awards ever since his career began, such as the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) and Kastria Mangku Negara (KMN) by His Royal Highness (DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di Pertuan Agong) of Malaysia; as well as having twice received the Excellence Service Award by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Malaysia.
